As an avid Adobe Premiere Pro user, I was really excited to see them rolling out some impressive AI features recently. Here are a couple of my favorites:
- AI Audio Category Tagging: This feature automatically identifies and labels different audio types in your footage, like dialogue, music, and effects, making it easier to organize and mix your sound.
- Speech to Text: Praise the video gods; no more manual transcription! This tool converts spoken words directly into text, perfect for adding captions or creating transcripts without the hassle.
- Auto Color: This AI-driven tool analyzes your footage and makes instant color corrections, saving you tons of time on color grading and helping maintain visual consistency across your edits.
CapCut
It seems like almost every TikTok video I come across these days is made with CapCut, and I’m consistently impressed by the quality of the videos people manage to create. It’s one of the most user-friendly video editing apps out there, especially for beginners, and a big part of that is thanks to its AI tools.
Here are a few of my favorites:
- Auto-Captions: This feature quickly generates captions for your videos.
- AI Avatars: Create unique avatars that mirror your movements and expressions to add a personalized touch to your videos.
- Ad Creation from Product URLs: Drop in a product URL, and the CapCut AI can whip up a polished ad for any social media platform.
- Automatic Promo Clips (probably the most exciting): Easily transform a longer video into short, punchy promo clips.
Lumen5
Lumen5 is a solid addition to any marketing toolkit, especially if you want to take your video content game to the next level. It’s perfect for converting everything from blog articles to voice-overs into professional-looking videos with just a few clicks.
Plus, you’ll find a wide range of customizable branding templates, which you can easily tweak with its user-friendly Canva-style interface. I can’t think of another tool that makes maintaining brand consistency as simple as this one.
DaVinci Resolve
Like Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve has integrated some impressive AI tools over the years, making it a strong contender in the video editing world. One of the coolest new features is the facial recognition tool, which lets you group clips based on who appears in them.
Just right-click on “Analyze Clips for People,” and the software will scan and sort your footage accordingly. If you frequently edit videos of events with lots of people, this tool is a serious time saver. You can spend more time focusing on the creative side rather than sorting through endless clips and feeling the life drain out of you.
Invideo
Like CapCut, InVideo is super easy to use, especially if you're looking to create simple short-form videos without any serious video editing skills. One of my favorite features is the AI text-to-video tool.
You just enter your script into a text box, select a few images, and the platform does the rest, generating a video based on your input. Yup, pretty wild! And the best part? It’s free to get started, making it a great option for beginners!
Runway
Runway has become a popular tool for creating visual art and cool AI tools for video editing, though I wouldn’t recommend it for total beginners. Even as someone who’s familiar with editing software, it can feel a bit much to handle.
That said, their AI video generator is pretty straightforward. Just type in a prompt like "a bustling city street at sunset," and it’ll whip up a video for you. The imagery isn’t always spot-on, but it’s great for sparking ideas and getting inspiration for your real-life shots.
Descript
Descript offers a bunch of AI tools, and one of my favorites is the transcript generator. You can upload a video of yourself talking, and it’ll transcribe it for you. I was pleasantly surprised by how accurate it was.
If there are any mistakes, no worries! You can easily make quick edits to the text. Overall, it’s a great option for beginners looking to edit quick, one-off videos without much hassle.
Wondershare Filmora
If you’ve been looking for solid cross-platform video editing software, Wondershare Filmora is a great pick. They offer a range of AI tools, but one that really stands out to me is the AI Frame Interpolation, which enhances the visuals of your clips while keeping the quality intact.
For instance, you can slow down a video smoothly without it looking choppy or losing clarity. They also have an AI Vocal Remover, which is perfect for stripping vocals from a track to create a karaoke version or just to isolate the music.
Clipchamp
Clipchamp is a Microsoft app that’s perfect for beginners who want to create short-form videos with ease. One of its standout AI tools is the AI text-to-speech feature, which supports 170 languages and over 400 different voice styles! Even better, you can tweak the voice by adjusting settings like gender, accent, pitch, and mood, giving you a lot of creative control to match the tone of your video.
Synthesia
If you need a talking head in your video but prefer it not to be yours, Synthesia is the way to go. With over 140 avatars on the top-tier plans (and 70 on the free version) plus 120 voices to choose from, you’ve got plenty of options.
It also offers a neat AI tool that lets you film yourself to exact specifications and create an avatar that looks just like you. Compared to text-to-speech avatar features in tools like Runway and CapCut, Synthesia’s avatars feel the most realistic!
